Treat(ies) Yourself: Post Treaties Recognition Week Circle

Treaties Recognition Week (November 1-5) gives us all an opportunity to learn more about treaty rights and relationships, indigenous and settler perspectives on treaties, and how treaties continue to impact us today. Participants in this Biindigen Indigenous Learning Circle event are asked to engage with one or more treaty-based resources prior to the session where together we will dig deeper into what roles treaties played and continue to play in our daily lives.

Choose at least one from this list of resources to explore during Treaties Recognition Week:

• Watch Trick or Treaty, a film by Abenaki director Alanis Obomsawim
• Learn about your local treaty through Native-land.ca
• Read “Treaty Making” by Chief Irving Powless Jr.
